I've had mine about 3 yrs and have some use beginning to show. The slot that I I use for the putter is showing metal. Have enjoyed it and have had many comments about it. All to the good. Has lots of room for just about anything you want to carry.

I used one for a couple of years until my black bag turned purple and I started to have zipper problems. It's still around somewhere. I can't sell it since it has my name on it. I expected more from a Burton bag. Good luck with yours.

I thought.....if you register for the Life Member via online you get the luggage, else you get the golf bag via mail renewal.
I've seen it both ways.

PingZing and Invex Long,
First, welcome to both of you to the board and thanks for your posts!
If the bag says b.sport, it is a Burton Golf Bag, circa 2003. Does it look a little bit like this?

Well, I knew that it was a Burton, that was the only b.sport product photo I could find. From what I can tell, they've dropped the b.sport line, don't see maxim listed on their site either, execept for 1 broken link. I found it interesting that Burton (certainly not the biggest name in golf bags) had over $10 million in sales last year. I'm in the wrong business!
By the way, Burton Golf was purchased by Forefront Golf, formerly Datrek Miller International, last week.

I changed groups in my company earlier this year causing me to travel a lot for work. Coming home a couple Friday's ago, while waiting at baggage claim, lo and behold a Partners Club bag came out. This particular baggage machine had a raised conveyor belt, then a 90 degree turn left, short ride down, and another 90 degree right turn onto the main conveyor belt. The way the bag came down, the top almost got caught as another bag was coming around. I could see where the club heads could get bent or snapped off if the right circumstances occured. I wish now I had waited to see who claimed it to talk to the owner, but I was in a hurry to get home. After seeing that, I may just buy one of those big hard sided cases for my clubs for travel. Still, it did look cool.

Sure great to know that only us old guys got a travel bag, and a few trinkets, and no luggage or club bag. I have used my travel bag on several trips and felt like it did a great job of protecting my clubs. I did however see a well padded travel bag at the Callaway Center while in Las Vegas last month and it had nice straps inside and out. It only costs $59.00 and was considerably better than the Callaway bag which cost $100.00 more. Thinking of giving my PGA bag to the wife and buying myself the bag I saw in Vegas. bj

Been thinking about becoming a life member for a few months. Having a hard time convincing myself it's worth it. I enjoy the magazine, the website, reading your wisdom on the board and such. Dropping $300 bucks isn't a big deal, but I can always think of something else to do with it. I can get a years membership at the muni for a little over 300, or it's nearly half a years membership at my current semi private club. I don't really need another golf bag, have 3, and have an attic packed with dozens of pieces of luggage. The $15 or $20 or whatever the club charges for annual membership is barely noticeable. Somebody help me with a good reason to go "lifetime" Thanks, Mike

Is the life member golf bag a benefit you recieve for becoming a life member or do you buy it. If you have to buy it How much does it cost? It looks like a nice bag and I am considering it.

The bag is part of yoiu membership. Does not cost extra. But you dont get every piece until your membership is paind in full.
Life membership was somewhere in the $300 range.

I just read through this post from day one. A a life Membeer your get the 3 piece travel set, consisting of a Suit carrier, tote bag and travel bag for a cart, or small staff bag. I ordered a Burton Bag from the Club and that is a seperate item. By the Way, it fits in my Travel bag quite nicely, have taken it to PEI, Cuba and Ontario, travels well.
Dave C since you started the thread, id ti the travel Bag of the Golf Bag you were asking about

I was wondering about the burton bag. What was the cost? There was a choice between a cart bag and a stand bag with your name put on it. It didn'e say anything about price? Has anyone ordered one and, which bag is better. I already have a stand bag and was considering the cart bag.

James, the Burton card bag was about $150, this is three years ago with Personalization for free and the club logo on the side. I ordered the non-life member (cuz I wasn't one when I ordered it, but they must have been reading my mind it came in with Life Member logoing.) Good bag, durable, don't know about the stand bag

Am I reading this correctly about the Golf Bag, people had to pay for them? I thought they were complimentary with the life membership? However, I consistently see dollar amounts being desribed in the forums.

John,
The 3-piece travel set ( Click here) was FREE after I made my final life membership payment. It did NOT cost anything extra.
I don't know anything about the golf bag that everyone is talking about in this post. That might be extra. Every now and then I get some mail from the club selling LIFE MEMBER junk. I never have bought anything. Stuff like a LIFE MEMBER ring. And other stuff.
At the Craig Ranch tournament we got Partners Club wind shirts. I wa supprise how much I like it. Normally I dont wear stuff like that. But this I have warn. I think I have seen that wind shirt in the mailing that I get from The Club so maybe it is all not junk.

golfNducks, thank you for the reply. The "new" Life Membership documents have an offer for either cart or stand bag now, unlike the information provided on the home page for their website. Nevertheless, it appears to me now that I will need to pay the entire amount up front for the membership if I want to receive the bag any sooner, or else wait the year out after I have paid my total amount. No worries though, I have a bag and I will continue to use it until I receive the new one. Hopefully at no extra cost.

Ok as promise.
Travel Set
Golf Bag Logo Side
Golf Bag Name Side
With the cover on the bag, it fits inside the Travel bag, the suitcarrier zips onto the travel bag and the carry on zip also onto the Travel bag.
Travel Set comes with a LIFE membership, The Logo'd Golf Bag is an EXTRA cost, but I think it was worth it
