Last summer the local utility company hosted an outing at Victoria National Golf Club in Newburgh, IN.  This course is by far the most interesting and well laid out I have ever been on.  There are challenges on each hole, and several tees for every level of play.  an absolutely gorgeous course.

Also, you can't beat a member sponsored outing with box lunch, free driving range, caddie for each foursome and open bar and dinner afterwards!

Pebble Beach and Spyglass are awesome. I had the opportunity to play Bethpage Black this past summer, what a great venue for upcoming US OPEN.Great course, with masterful bunkering.

I have yet to play in Hawaii, on my bucket list of places to play!

I have had the extreme pleasure of working for a golf nut (like myself). And whenever we travel on business together, he always looks for the top courses to play (he has played Pebble over a dozen times, he even got onto Cypress).

I have played Pebble (and Spansh Bay), Torrey Pines (South), Bayhill, Myrtle Beach Courses, many desert courses (TPC Scottsdale, Troon, Boulders, etc) and Florida courses.

I have also played 6 rounds in 5 days in Scotland, including St. Andrews (Old, new and Jubilee), Kingsbarns, Crale, and Carnoustie.

Being overwhelmed hit me also on Pebble and St. Andrews Old.

I spent too much time trying to take it all in and not played well.

In Scotland, both St. Andrews and Carnoustie were amazing, but a course that I really enjoyed as well was KingsBarns.

In North America, Pebble was great (would love the opportunity to play a second time to golf it better). Torrey was great and long (actually lost a sandwege there) ... But I persoanlly love desert courses.

Being Canadian (and currently February) I will take any playable course!

I spent the last 2 weeks watching the pros on TV playing courses that I have played before (including Pebble this coming weekend) and it is actually pretty cool to say you have been there (except not fo rmy wife, she is gettign tired of hearing it)

Heading out to Hawaii at the beginning of March and then back to Scottsdale in April ... can't wait!

Courses I still want to get to and play:

Bandon Dunes, Pinehurst #2, TPC Sawgrass, Augusta (good luck) and Muirfield Village, OH (I know impossible, but my boss played it last August)

... not bragging or tooting my own horn, just VERY fortunate!

Carnoustie = the toughest.

St. Andrews (Old Course) = the most "mystical"

Ballybunion (Old Course) = the closest to perfect that I've experienced.

I am torn between True Blue in Mytle Beach and Koolau in Hawai. They are entirely different in layout but extremely challenging and beautiful. They say to  you come back, come back and you know in your heart you have to.  Koolau is like playing on carpet literally and the slope are very decieving and you don;t discover this until it is too late, hence you must go play it again. Outstanding scenery and extremely a challenge.

OK, it is Koolau

Last Fourth of July I played Belterra Golf Course in Florence, In.  Very challenging as well as beautifully kept.

The best course I have played is Elks Run; a Greg Norman designed course in the Cincinnati area. I loved the links style layout and the flawless fairways and greens. I can't wait to go back.

I had the opportunity to play the Straits course at Whistling Straits in WI a few years ago. Tough course, but a great experience! First time I golfed with a caddy, and the one we had was very good. I know it's not the Pacific Ocean, but Lake Michigan is a pretty good substitute.

This past August I was on Oahu for 2 weeks. Played 5 courses, but my favorite had to be Turtle Bay (Palmer Course). I also played the Fazio course at Turtle Bay. Also played, Ko'Olina (lot of fun), Olomana (my best score ever) and the Kaneoehe Klipper on the Air Force base on the east side of the island. The Kaneoehe Klipper presented the most beautiful hole of golf I think I have played. The ocean is to the right of the fairway and with the sun, mountain backdrops, it was amazing.

Also, living here in Washington State, I played Chambers Bay twice last year and it's a beautiful layout by the water. It's going to be a great venue for the 2015 US Open.

In the U.S., it was the Cascades course at the Homestead Resort in VA.  Mountain golf at it's best followed by dinner at Sam Snead's in the town.

The best course anywhere was the old course at Ballybunion.  A caddy said it best there "If you live a good life, God will let you play this course everyday.  He built it.  Man just found it."

Best Course I Ever Played. Peachtree in Atlanta WAS my number one  but Firestone ( south course ) has replaced Peachtree. Perfect condition small fast and true greens. A very mature course with trees playing a large part of where to set up your tee shot to approach shot. Fuzz at the 55th hole is one of a kind.

Best course for me is a toss-up between Kings North at Myrtle Beach National, Straits Course at Whistling Straits, River Course at Blackwolf Run and Cascata in Vegas.  Torrey Pines North was a disappointment.

White Clouds 9 at Sun Valley Resort, Idaho. They are completing the next 9 at the current time. Challenge and Views are extraordinary. I'm a hacker and couldn't play it well (57). However, the views are worth the pain. http://www.sunvalley.com/SunValley/info/act.golf.new.aspx

How the @#%%$ did you get on Pine Valley...what an incredible experience that must have been! Traveling to Miami at the end of the month...Blue Monster worth the $290 they charge? I agree with you on Pebble, it's awesome, played it 2002. A very close runner up was Spyglass Hill, loved that course as well.
