Why are there not more incentives for the Members Only Tournaments? Maybe, have the following tourney awarded as an exempt entry, or something. Alot of people travel a many a mile just to play a round of golf, they have gas, airfare, hotel, food, and other related costs, as well as the tourney entry fee, just to recieve a plaque if you do wind up winning. I think this issue ought to be discussed and something considered for some sort of prize/award incentive besides a plaque. Jasonic_69

You would think that this organization would have more tournament play around the country. I live in the San Diego, Ca. area and there alot of golf courses around. Probably ONE every 3 to 5 miles. Could you comment on this please. My membership # 50270345. Please send me an email on this matter. Thank You Darrell Newman

The Member Tournaments is quite frankly very disappointing. In fact it should be an embassassment to the club to have tournaments only at TPC courses at cost that are inflated beyond reason. Want to have member tourneys? Hold them where we live and make it a reasonable price so most member can play.

with all the people we have as members and the big names that run tour Partners (Tom Lehman) Can't this club become something worth belonging too? I've been a life member for 10 years now and have only received one article to test, 10 years, That's a little ridiculous, and had I not contacted the club about not receiving the magazine I still wouldn't be getting it. They seemed to forget about me after a couple of years and I did not move but the mag stopped showing up many years ago until I said something earlier this year. They must be bringing money and it doesn't seem like the benefits are worth belonging. What do you guys think.

Posting complaints on this forum is useless, it is apparent that the club is not monitoring the comments here. My suggestion to all of you that have viable complaints, send them to the club via email or snail mail. For those of you looking for an alternative to the club tournaments that are a little more easy on the pocketbook, check out Naturevalley.com for their list of tournaments. I have participated twice in club tournaments and have switched to the Nature Valley tournaments because of the price and the awards....JM

The Turning Stone event is $1380 for golf, four breakfasts and two dinners, lets see the practice rounds are $140 for the two "B" courses and $225 for the "A" course. Thats $505 for the golf. That only leaves $875 for 4 breakfasts, two dinners and the Waterford Crystal. For 72 players thats $63,000 for the above. Lets take $10,000 out for admin fees by the partners club (remember the course is already getting its $505 per person for the tee time, starters, greeters, etc, plus $30 per cart. Thats still $53K. What a joke. Then if you are out of town you get a break and pay $250 per night at a hotel, or $350 per night for "the Lodge", Thanks for the "deal".

Good grief !!! I cannot believe the amount of people complaining that there aren't tournaments in their state.Obviously, every state can't have a tournament, but it seems like there is something available within a day's drive for everybody, except for maybe the Pac NW, but in the past there has been opprotunities there, too. To me, going to play in a different region of the country is much more exciting. (And it tastes like chicken)

I TOO AGREE WITH JASONIC. AT $225 TO PLAY A TPC COURSE IN A ONE DAY EVENT, THE WINNER SHOULD RECEIVE SOMETHING MORE THA A SMALL WOODEN PLAQUE AND QUESTIONABLE FOOD AND A SLEEVE OF BALLS. I TRAVELED FROM STATEN ISLAND TO RIVER HIGHLANDS TWO YEARS AGO.....FOR 18 HOLES IN THE RAIN AND WARM BEER. I COULD NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE WEATHER BUT AT LEAST THE BEER COULD HAVE BEEN COLD.

TO ALL THOSE QUESTIONING THE AVAILABILITY OF TOURNAMENTS........THEY ARE HELD AT TOURNAMENT PLAYERS CLUBS.....RESORT AND PRIVATE, I BELIEVE. IF YOU DO NOT LIVE NEAR A TPC COURSE, THERE WILL BE NO TOURNAMENT NEAR WHERE YOU LIVE. GO ON LINE AND TYPE IN TPC COURSES IN A SEARCH ENGINE AND YOU SHOULD SEE THE ENTIRE LISTING AND LOCATION FOR TPC COURSES IN THE USA.

To those complaining about the cost of Turning Stone or any event for that matter. I have played in 3. The only way I could afford this was by hooking up my timeshare. Next time you get a magazine, read the corporate stuff. This "club" is a for profit business. It is not around for golfer buddy bonding. It is in existance to make a buck. That is how Jeff and Kristine get paid. Yes, I do agree that the events are VERY expensive and most of us normal folks cannot afford them. But I will say this having attended three (and having won two).....the venues are great and they are very well run. But I see the Waterford trophies on sale at Waterford outlet near me all the time! They cost about $60 bucks at the outlet. Save your allowance and attend one event. You will NOT be disappointed in the fun but you WILL walk away saying to yourself that it was not worth the expense. I paid $375 (with my club discount) for my practice round at Sawgrass last year! For those not in the know, we get a discount at all TPC courses with our membership cards. The End!

I havent seen any complaints about New ENgland.... So I will start. I live in Maine, and yes I know, I know.... Maine, well there are some fine courses here as well. and I would even be willing to travel a little but I only see 2 in the new england area but I really dont want to go to Boston or Conn. What about Maine.....? and to "JOETOAST" and "ramar", Maybe you dont have to worry about the cost of gas and other expenses but most of use do.... To travel within "a Days travel" or have to drive a bit at todays gas prices is financially not going to happen for most of us.....

Ive read alot of the comments. I have this one question or suggestion. Why cant the members host our own tournaments around the country? It can all be set up to pay some cash prizes, as long as all the expenses are met. That could possibly offset some of this high gas cost and traveling expenses. Even a little bit would help and the chance to meet some great people would far outweigh what i have read here. Let's all get together and give this some thought.

New member here, what a disapointment, considering we are all paying our dues and theTPC does not even acknowledge our (members) comments. I am from South Texas, and I,of all the members may not even have a chance to play in any TPC tourney . I love to play golf ,if only they would acknowledge our comments and listen to all the members that keep this club going and continue to test products and reward members with golf products as advertised I would be satisfied, without having any local tournets in my area.

To those of you that asked about members getting their own tourneys, If you monitor the forum, a group of us get together once a year for a golf outing. 2007 was in St. Louis, 2008 was in the Chicago area. As it stands right now 2009 will be in the Sarasota-Bradenton area next May. Watch for info in the reg forum..........MJ

I have been a life member for about a year now and will tell you that there are courses in Montana that will give you a discount if you show them your PGA Partner card. However some will say they have no affiliation with PGA Partners and simply don't give any discount. Is there anywhere on the PGA Partners Club website that members can go to and see which golf courses by state will honor your PGA Partner CLub membership??? If not, can the club create such a list or site where members can go and add courses that honor the card??

I just checked the regular rates at TPC Las Vegas, $ 275.00 per player. $ 228.00 for tournament not such a bad deal. Need a cheap but good hotel, try in mesquite, 90 miles north. they also have great golf courses. Also have great tournament in may 2009. Mesquite Amateur. 3 rounds of golf, nightly parties, and a good time. $ 475.00 if entered by mar 31, 2009. $ 525.00 if entered after that. This years dates are 25-29 may 2009. www.mesquiteamateur.com. Also Palace Station casino on Sahara, west of I-15 is good inexpensive hotel. Book on Orbitz.com.

I joined the Club in '97. I've only played in one tourney... Craig Ranch and won my flight!... That is the ONLY thing I've gotten out of being a Life Member. I have enough divot tools! I agree with one comment I read... If you win your flight or division, I think it'd be great if you got free entry to defend your title!!! With the economy the way it is... I think that'd be great! I also think that there SHOULD be more tourneys and I don't think they necessarily need to be played at the TPC courses... Why couldn't we have tournaments at the actual PGATour stops, say, a week or a month later? Whatever might make it easier for whom ever has to set up the tourney. And they wouldn't have to stop at EVERY tour event...

Hi there...I'm looking to find the list of club member tournaments for 2009. Can anyone tell me where the list might be found or who to contact. Also would like information from anyone who has traveled to a warmer climate for some winter golf, any suggestions as to where to look or contact information for good rates would be helpfull. I've been a Life Member since 2006 but have only just begun checking out this forum. Hope to hear from you fellow members, thank you, Brent from Niagara Falls,On., Canada

I know that the Californians would like more tournaments, but I must say that California is not the only state that has golfers. I have looked at the map and there could be more tournaments in states that do not have tournaments at all. We have some outstanding courses right here in the Montana, Idaho, Utah and Washington state.

Try Robert Trent Jones Trail in Alabama. Lots of courses, good winter weather normally. Also, Alabama Gulf Coast, Gulf Shores or Florida Panhandle. Great weather, good courses, winter rates on accomodations and "Snow Birds". Good luck, Happy Holidays.

If the staff paid as much attention to this site as they do for sending out delinquent notices on the instructional videos (you'll be getting one if you're three days late) this would be a jam-up place to get info. As it is....well, put it this way, it's the first week of Feb and the 2009 schedule is nowhere to be seen.

I was informed the other day that there will be no member tournaments in 2009. They will look at again in 2010 to see if enough interest is there and the economy gets a little better.

Why no tournaments in the Southwest? Why no tournaments in 2009? The economy may be weak, but it's not bad enough not to have tournaments.

I would be very surprised to see the Club Championship at the Kohler Resort get off the ground in this economy. Even with the Club profit built in, this resort runs in line with the overpriced Pebble Beach course and the Inn at Pebble Beach. Yeah, let's pay $475 for green fees and $700 for a room per night. They had an event at the Whistling Straigts once before. Besides being a most difficult location to get to..the event cost was equal the the annual budget of most 3rd world countries. I have been a life member for years. Once, I got a towel clip to test. Since I have a hook, I called, complained and was finally set a club to test. I am done with this "club." This is a corporate for profit outfit. In case you did not realize....they also offer hunting and fishing clubs. Once I played at TPC Jasna in NJ. Jeff Alshtad was hosting. Either the day prior or day after he was on his way to host people going out on a party boat at the Jersey Shore. What a joke. The magazine is all about advertising revenue. The good news.....I still use the immatation brief case I got at one event. I think the recession will see the end of the events....overpriced even in the best of times. Spend your membership dollars on a tank of gas, a dz balls or take the family out to Burger King.

I, like other Life Members am fed up with the service and opportunities to play golf in this organization. I have yet to see any results of any of the member contests you list only to put tons of advertisements in front of us. The value for playing in one of your trail events is rediculous. Extemely high green fees for a $15.00 plaque and sandwich buffet. One has to either pay an extemely high plane fare or drive all day, stay in motels and then play at a course where the staffs treat you like you are bum from off the street. As I said in an another letter to the management, if things do not improve they can take my life membership put it you know where.

yes there is no tournaments this year ,,,, why can't we has members submit entries for tournaments to played at our home course with reduce rates and hotel rooms to host the tournaments,,,we has members can get good rates at our local golf course and hotel rooms if we need to for group outing and submit them with pictures of the course and let them draw out of hat for next year golf tournaments and that is where we play,,,yes i think the prices to play where the partners club decides to play a game of golf is way to high...

I've been a life member for years and have enjoyed the TPC evenst in CT and MA. Very disappointed in the decison to cancel the events for 2009. Advertising has been the only thing I've seen from the club - no testing, no contest wins, and now no tournaments.

Hey there fellow members and the PGA Tour Partners Administrators ------- something needs to be clarified once and for all concerning member tournaments for 2009. I've read the comments above, but was told about 2 weeks ago that they were still trying to line up sponsors for 2009 and have tournaments. Well, which is it? Are you working on this or is it cancelled outright??? I don't know if they monitor this at all, but lets have some feedback. Fellow Minnesotans/Wisconsinites - how about running our own Tournament at a club aroung the Cities this year? TPC Blaine was (is?) a good venue but the entry bite was getting up there for what you got. Let's hear from you guys out there - I live in Duluth but would be willing to travel. I sent an e-mail to the club asking about the issue of tourneys. Here is the response I got. Looks like we won't have any until the economy recovers... "At this time we do not foresee any PGA Tour Partners Club tournaments on our schedule for the remainder of 2009 unless things change considerably. Our tournaments have not been filling up as we hoped for and it no longer makes financial sense for us to run them. We apologize for this happening but because of the state of the economy, the hospitality/tourism industry is down which is the category our golf tournaments fall into. I apologize for any inconvenience. Please let us know if you have any further questions. Thank you for being a member, Shawn Member Services"

OK, gentlemen and ladies(?), this is not going to resolve the no-tourneys issue, BUT...the link to the World Golf Tournament will give you an impressive, time-only-cost method of deluding yourself into thinking you are golfing! No motels, green fees, tips, fuel cost, travel time - you want cold beer, it's two rooms away instead of a half-hour and three fairways and it's not $5; no sunscreen, no bugs, no rain or darkness, no slow fours ahead or fast twos behind. I'm feeling the grass-course sites might lose to this new electronic game, and Partners Club probably should not be promoting it! I think we should all list each other as players on WGT, get some tours going, make use of it while it is available, and get the laundry off the treadmills for the exercise we need! Seriously, though, check out the WGT...it's amazing and challenging, and they provide all the balls we can bathe!
